My first sourcing blog! I started to learn more about sourcing when I was working on another project, www.brightcityshop.nl In fact, I learned how difficult it is to find the right suppliers. They not only have to make nice things, but also with high quality, fast and for an economic price. Then there also comes the customization difficulty where language and clarity influence the end result. And finally, you want to be close to your supplier when your product is made. I'm not the first sourcing agent in the world, and if you Google you will find a lot of resources. But I do something different, I work independent and honest. This sounds like an open door, but in fact it's different in reality. A lot of sourcing agents have contracts with suppliers. As a client, you don't get the best product or part.
That's what I want to change! I think clarity is the way to follow, clarity about quotes, suppliers and communication. As a client you always get three quotes from which you can choose. As a client you can choose between 2 different set-ups:
1. The Risk Reducer
I work per hour and charge a fee.After the product is found, produced and tested, client is can continue collaboration without me being involved. My company is not liable for warranty claims, it's between client and supplier, I only operate as risk reducer.
2. The Builder
I source the supplier, arrange production and do quality control. I report to the client. Client gives a price range, I arrange it. The client buy the parts or products from my company. My company is liable for warranty claims.

Most of the suppliers are from China, but also sourcing in Taiwan, South-Korea, India and Vietnam.
